As we are a startup volunteer organization, donations or funding of any amount will open the door to new possibilities in fulfilling our mission. These early donations will be some of the most important funding we ever receive!
We use the Givebutter platform to manage donations. If you'd like to support our work with a donation, please donate through this link:
https://givebutter.com/support-chaaco
Please note that Givebutter will ask for "tips," which are strictly optional and no-obligation. These tips go to Givebutter to support their operating costs, in lieu of charging CHAACo mandatory processing and platform fees. Tipping has no impact on CHAACo either way; allowing Givebutter to ask for tips means all donations to us go further.
200 color copies of this flyer, along with multiple CHAACo promotional posters to bring awareness to our work, were printed and distributed at the 2026 American Alliance of Museums Annual Meeting.
Smaller sets of Immigrant Solidarity flyers have been distributed at local events across the country.
CHAACo plans to adopt a new paid platform to help organize mailing lists and other communication between CHAACo and our community.
This will help us tailor our communications to your needs and help our volunteers coordinate.
CHAACo is looking into funding membership of certain allied organizations to help our volunteers engage with their resources and member communities. This will help us build critical skills and awareness for our work and deepen our interconnectedness with the wider cultural heritage community.
Business cards are the ultimate portable informational flyer! CHAACo can introduce ourselves memorably and share links to our resources. Easy for volunteers to have on hand for both spontaneous conversations and major conferences.
For greater flexibility in conducting meetings and hosting virtual events, CHAACo would benefit from a paid video conferencing plan.
$12 will cover the cost of keeping our website domain name for 1 year
$50 will pay for a modest run of "sponsored" social media posts or ads on one platform to help get the word out about CHAACo's resources and mission, especially our Immigrant Solidarity and ICE Preparedness tools.
$100 will cover printing costs for 200 copies of our Immigrant Solidarity and ICE Preparedness informational flyer, to distribute at cultural heritage conferences.
$32 will purchase 250 basic business cards for CHAACo to share at conferences
fund email management tools to help us get the word out (costs TBD)
get a paid video call plan for more flexible meeting options
engage lawyers to review our immigrant aid resources and assist with ICE preparedness training
host modest in-person events to build community solidarity and solutions-oriented networking
subsidize costs for volunteers to do outreach and education at conferences in our sector
$500 per year: A future goal: get a paid Airtable database plan to provide more powerful tools for our job board and resource hub, including precise location based searches, automated emails to interested job seekers, better submission form features, and more, possibly including the ability to create a synced network of interconnected free job boards to share with volunteer-run, nonprofit regional associations. (Sustained funding of about $500 per year would get us two seats on the basic "Team" paid plan, at 2025 prices.)
If you can only provide support if it is tax-deductible or to organizations with 501(c) nonprofit status, we're working on it! Please read more on How to Contribute, linked at the top of this page.
CHAACo is does not yet have 501(c) nonprofit status, and therefore donations to us are not tax-deductible at this time. Becoming an independent nonprofit is relatively expensive for us in both time and money. For the near future, we are working toward finding fiscal sponsorship—that is, becoming a sponsored project of a compatible nonprofit organization that can extend its 501(c) status and protections to us.
If you would like to make a donation to us, but only after we have 501(c) nonprofit status and/or it would be considered tax-deductible, please let us know by pledging a donation today!
Pledges for future donations provide meaningful support now. Pledged donations will help us make a case to a nonprofit fiscal sponsor to take us on, allow us to plan for future expenditures, and enable us to apply for grants that want to see demonstrated support for projects.
Please email us through our Contact Us page and pledge to donate.
