There are many meaningful ways to support our work!

Give your time to something you're passionate about, using CHAACo's resources to support your work.
Project leaders: Define your project's scope and benchmarks, coordinate your project team's efforts, help recruit project assistants and other contributors, and be responsible for getting project phases across the finish line to produce a sharable resource for the community. We encourage you to attend some CHAACo Steering Committee meetings to discuss progress, priorities, and your project’s needs.
You can propose a project that aligns with our mission, choose among a large list of projects and ideas that we have compiled, or help lead a current project. We can also help you choose one based on interest and urgency.
Project contributors: A great way to make a valued contribution without needing to lead or attend Steering Committee meetings. Collaboration helps us follow through on our goals, strengthen our projects with a diversity of skills and perspectives, and avoid burnout! Please consider supporting an existing project.
For more on our projects, check out our Contact Us form, and stay tuned for future website features about our projects!
Help us with the ongoing work of CHAACo's infrastructure, maintaining our online platforms, and more!
We would greatly appreciate volunteers for any of the following:
Become our webmaster; develop and maintain our website
Moderate our Public Resource Hub submissions (bonus: you'll be the first to see new job opportunities as they are submitted!)
Help answer our Contact Us inquiries
Help write CHAACo's public updates to share with our general mailing list, AIC, and other related communities
Help manage CHAACo's Google Drive of resources and collaborative documents
Help expand our profile to reach more of the cultural heritage community
Be a pinch hitter: step in as needed to help projects that need more support
If you have expertise related to our mission and are open to being consulted or speaking to the community on your topic, we'd love to hear from you! Examples:
fundraising, grant writing, and development
legal expertise
organizing volunteers
effective communication with policy makers
If you are a member of an allied organization, help both organizations coordinate by attending our meetings and relaying information about projects and needs. You can also share our periodic CHAACo public update messages in the communication channels of your other organization.
Join CHAACo's leadership team! This structure will give CHAACo the leadership and administrative team to make bold, agile decisions. Roles will be defined yet flexible so members can move confidently on their commitments and request support as needed.
By joining:
You will help steer CHAACo's priorities, projects, messaging, branding, partnerships, and more!
You commit to spending at least 1 hour per week on CHAACo leadership endeavors, such as contributing in steering committee and general meetings, helping draft CHAACo communications, pitching in on group-effort "sprints" to give a boost to active projects, Discord engagement, and development efforts.
Bonus:
You can build your leadership skills with us.
No FOMO! You can be in the room where it happens.
You can volunteer for a project or contribute in other ways without being publicly associated with CHAACo. We will leave your name off of external communications and acknowledgements.
Refer to our Privacy Policy for more details!
When you come across relevant opportunities or resources, add them to our searchable database by filling out a simple form! This is open to the public and anonymous. There is no need to be otherwise involved with CHAACo.
Talk with your colleagues and friends about our organization, our efforts, and send them to our website.
The more engagement our hub gets, the better it will become! The more people know about the resources we are building for you, the stronger our community becomes.
For those reasons, you are welcome to link to our website and our Public Resource Hub pages from your own website and social media. The data on our database is available for your personal or internal institutional use. If you want to share it publicly, we encourage you to do so by sharing our website. If you take material out of context and place it on your website, please credit the Cultural Heritage Advocacy and Action Coalition and include a clear link to our website.
Have feedback about our website, public resource hub, or other offerings? Let us know about it!
At this time, CHAACo is an unincorporated volunteer organization with no funding. Donations or funding of any amount would open the door to new possibilities in fulfilling our mission.
If you are interested in contributing directly to us, please email us through our Contact Us page and pledge to donate. We'll be in touch once we have established a mechanism for managing funds.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
You can join our general mailing list for occasional updates and calls to action without becoming a volunteer. We're here to support you, not sell you things, and we'll never sell your contact information.
Contact us to be added to the mailing list.
We may periodically issue or amplify a call to action, a coordinated, targeted response to a recognized problem or opportunity. By working together we can, for example, bring attention to important topics, demand specific changes loudly enough to be heard, or amass resources for mutual aid.
We recognize that there are many important and urgent issues in the news right now. CHAACo's calls focus on actions that defend, advocate for, or otherwise support cultural heritage communities and their fundamental rights and principles.
