We want to make sure everyone feels safe partaking of our community resources and participating in our efforts to support the cultural heritage community.
To protect our community, CHAACo will never intentionally publish the names of individual contributors without asking first, including in acknowledgements sections, public presentations, or emails to our general mailing list.
We do not collect the personal information of anyone making submissions to the resource hub or job board.
For those on our mailing lists, CHAACo will not share your contact information with third parties without your permission.
Emails sent to the general mailing list use BCC for individuals' email addresses.
Emails sent to subsets of our volunteers committed to working together may use visible email addresses to aid collaboration.
Our internal Discord community is the place for CHAACo volunteers to collaborate and mingle.
For the protection of our community, CHAACo requires your real name when you request access to the Discord server, whether or not you chose to use it for your Discord account. This information will only be accessible to CHAACo’s leadership and will not be associated by CHAACo leadership with your Discord account information in any other context.
Within the Discord community or a working group and its communications (on Discord or in other contexts), it is up to you to decide how much personal information to divulge, and whether you wish to use an alias. (You might choose to do so if you have concerns about privacy, safety, or the appearance of conflicts of interest.) Communicate about your concerns with your project leaders or administrators so they can help you maintain anonymity.
We expect all members of our Discord community to abide by our Code of Conduct, which explicitly includes, "Respect for Privacy and Boundaries: Do not share others’ messages, personal stories, or identities outside the group without their consent. This includes screenshots. If you're unsure, ask first." Violations of our Code of Conduct will be taken very seriously and may result in removal from the server.
